GREENDALE, WI -- An 18-year-old Greendale resident has been charged with fleeing an officer after police say a Greendale police officer was dragged by his arm after the teen tried to get away from a traffic stop.

Diederich Pablo, 18, Greendale, faces up to 18 months behind bars if he is convicted. According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, a Greendale police officer was on patrol on the morning of May 18 in the area of W. According to the criminal complaint, when the officer walked up to Pablo's car, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the interior of the car.

When the officer asked Pablo to turn the car and step outside, he reportedly refused to do so, and began pulling away. According to the criminal complaint, the officer still had their arm through the car window at the time Pablo began accelerating away, and was dragged along the road before he could free his arm from the window.
