Village Days, 75th Anniversary Celebration a Week Away

Village Days, and Greendale's 75th Anniversary Celebration, is just a week away. The festivities begin Aug. 7, 2013.

A countdown 75 years in the making enters its final week today as Village Days and Greendale's 75th anniversary celebration begins Aug. 7.

From hot air balloon rides to a laser light show to a massive reunion, it will be "Village Days on steroids," as event organizer Dave Miller told Greendale NOW.

And though it's a week away, here is the Village Days lineup for next Wednesday:

  • Hot Air Balloon Rides at Brinkman Field from 6-8 p.m.
  • Retro ‘40s on Broad Street from 5-9 p.m., featuring vintage cars, period costumes, “appearances” from Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt and a swing band
  • Vintage Car Show from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Registration is $10 and includes brat, beer, t-shirt and a chance to win $200 cash prize for best in show.
