What Teacher Would You Thank?

Many longtime Greendale residents shared Karen Conklin's fondness and appreciation for teacher Richard Bergner (known to many as Coach).

Conklin had Bergner as a teacher in sixth and eighth grades, and wrote that far more than the academics he taught, she remembers his life lessons. His way of teaching helped her and her classmates learn how to get along with each other despite differences and how to treat each other with compassion.
