Where To Take The Kids This Week In Greendale: Family Events

GREENDALE, WI— With the final flocks of students finishing school, here are some ways to help avoid any summertime boredom from setting in: A petting zoo Wednesday morning and a secret spy academy all week.

The "Spy Academy," as Greendale's Field Workshop called it in a Facebook post, will be from Wednesday to Saturday. If animals are the mood of the week, the Greendale Public Library will host a petting zoo from GEE Funny Farms. Find barnyard friends of all varieties 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gazebo Park, the library said on Facebook.

Spy Academy

Wednesday until Saturday the Field Workshop in downtown Greendale will be offering a spy academy, Field Workshop wrote on Facebook. As part of open studio hours, anyone can register for the activity- drop ins are also welcome, Field Workshop wrote. According to the Field Workshop website, Spy Academy will lead "recruits" on a journey of making a spy identity, disguise and spy tools.

The program will also help children crack spy cases, navigate a laser maze and learn about fingerprints, the Field Workshop said. The event will cost $15. Anyone 5 or older can join without an adult, but 5 and under must have an adult present.

Open 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. The Field Workshop is located at 5686 Broad Street in Greendale.

Petting Zoo From Gee Family Farms

Meet some animals at a petting zoo on Wednesday. The library will be hosting this event from GEE Funny Farms at Gazebo Park at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Facebook post from the library said.

This event is free to attend and will include barnyard animals of all types, the library wrote. People are also invited to bring a blanket and watch from a distance. The petting zoo will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Gazebo Park located at 5798 Broad Street in Greendale.
