Wisconsin Weather: Severe Storms, Hail, Tornado Possible Friday

There's increased potential for the risk of a few brief tornadoes as the line of storms move through southern Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds gusts and a few brief tornadoes are possible Friday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service says.

There is a small risk for hail up to an inch in diameter. The areas with the best chance for severe weather Friday is for locations northeast of a line from Portage to Kenosha, according to weather observers.

The NWS says the chance for severe storms has increased, and the timing will be from noon to 8 p.m. There's also an increased potential for the risk of a few brief tornadoes as the line of storms move through southern Wisconsin.

All of southern Wisconsin. The areas with the best chance for severe weather will be locations northeast of a line from Portage to Kenosha.

Wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour. A few brief tornadoes. Small risk for hail to the size of quarters.

When:
Noon to 8 p.m.

Impacts:
Strong winds and possible tornadoes may result in tree and structural damage, and will pose a threat to anyone outdoors or without access to adequate shelter.
