Woman Drove Drunk In Greendale With Gun In Car: Police

Greendale police said they learned the woman had a 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun in the vehicle's center console.

GREENDALE, WI — Police in Greendale say a woman was arrested and may face criminal charges after officers determined she was driving while intoxicated with a gun in the car.

According to Greendale police call logs an officer on patrol pulled over the driver of a vehicle along the 8400 block of W. Grange Ave. just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 1 on suspicion of drunken driving.

Police said the driver, a 24-year-old woman, registered a .12 blood alcohol concentration, which is greater than the legal limit for drunken driving in Wisconsin.

Police also said they learned the woman had a 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun in the vehicle's center console.

According to police call logs, the woman was arrested on suspicion of her second drunken driving offense, driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration and endangering safety by intoxicated possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police said the woman was booked at the Greendale police department, cited and released to a responsible party.
