Braeger Chevrolet Teams Up with Whitnall Block Party
Braeger Chevrolet committed $1,000 to the fourth-annual block party and other financial assistance to the district.

The Whitnall Block Party, a back-to-school event now in its fourth year, and the Whitnall School District appear to have a long-term backer.
Braeger Chevrolet, 4100 S. 27th St., donated $1,000 to sponsor this year’s unofficial kick-off to the school year, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14, on the street between the Whitnall high and middle schools.
Sam Rabideau, Braeger’s finance manager and mother of an incoming Whitnall High School student, said the car dealership does not want to be a one-and-done donor.

“We want to have a continuing partnership,” she said.
Rabideau said Braeger will give away fliers at the block party, and those who bring them in to the dealership and purchase a new will earn the district $200. Similarly, someone who purchases a $24.95 oil change at the dealership and presents a flier will earn the district $5.

“You commit to us; we’ll commit to you,” Rabideau said.
Rabideau said Braeger will be promoting a pledge to not text and drive at the block party.
Event coordinator and middle school teacher Mike Seavert said his committee usually has to solicit donations from the community.
“This one came to us. It worked in reverse, and I’m glad it did,” he said.
