Greenfield Fire Marshall Jeff Cavett isn't only on the lookout for tall grass in front yards.
He wants people to take care of their backyards and alley areas as well.
"The alleys, especially on the northeast side of the city, they have thistles taller than us," Cavett said. "They have mattresses piled between garages. They have tires stacked.
"I literally could not write enough tickets to cure that northeast corner where alleys are, or any alleys for that matter."
Cavett wishes residents would take care of their rubbish and use the city's DPW drop-off site to their advantage.
