Drug House Found On S. Ravinia Drive, Greenfield Police Say

What started as a traffic stop led to the discovery of a drug house on Greenfield's east side, according to police.

GREENFIELD, WI — A traffic stop for tinted windows and a missing license plate led Greenfield police to bust a drug house on the city's east side.

According to the Greenfield police department, the incident began just before 10 p.m. on Sep. 3 when an officer pulled over a Mazda heading south on S. 35th Street for having heavily-tinted windows and a missing front license plate.

Authorities said they smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A police search of the vehicle turned up two packages of marijuana and a digital scale with that an officer suspected had either heroin or fentanyl residue on it.

Police questioned the driver, a 20-year-old Greenfield man and the passenger, a 21-year-old Greenfield woman, who confirmed they lived in an apartment on the 4200 block of S. Ravinia Drive.

When a police officer asked the woman if there was anything inside their residence that shouldn't be there, "she seemed hesitant to answer this question," according to police reports.

According to police, the officer told the woman he might apply for a search warrant for their apartment based on what officers found in their car. Police said the woman gave police permission to search the apartment.

Officers searched the apartment and found 41.7 grams of suspected fentanyl, 13.7 grams of
suspected cocaine, 6.7 grams of suspected marijuana, and 0.85 grams of suspected
methamphetamine, according to police reports.
