Greenfield Man Faces Child Pornography Charges

GREENFIELD, WI — A 32-year-old Greenfield man has been arrested and charged after authorities say they received

According to the criminal complaint, Greenfield police received five tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that Kiel Burkhammer had suspected child pornography uploaded to a Yahoo! email.

Authorities say they traced the suspected child pornography images back to his residence through an internet IP address that was linked to an internet IP address that was traced back to where he was living.

Court records showed that he was arrested and has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography.

According to Greenfield police, a search of Burkhammer's phone yielded six videos that were confirmed to contain child pornography. Authorities also said he had about 40 images which contained child pornography, though 10 of the images were duplicates.

When questioned by authorities, he reportedly said, “I don't know, I know it's wrong, I've been trying not to look at it," according to the criminal complaint.

Court records show that he is due in court on Sep. 10 for his initial appearance. He is not in custody.
