Greenfield Walmart Shoplifter Said 'Crack Helped Him Do It': Cops
A crack-fueled shoplifting case at a Greenfield Walmart ended in arrest following a high-speed chase on I-43, police said.

GREENFIELD, WI — Authorities in Greenfield say they've arrested two men after one stole about $1,000 items from the local Walmart and the other led police on a high-speed chase until their car was disabled by officers.
According to the criminal complaint, Eric Davis, 49, Milwaukee, has been charged with fleeing an officer. Andre Green, 50, Wauwatosa has been charged with felony retail theft.
Authorities said officers were sent to the Walmart at 10600 W. Layton Ave. just after 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 1 after learning that a Chevrolet Suburban drove away after a man climbed in with a cart full of items he didn't pay for.

Police said they found the Suburban getting on a nearby I-43 ramp and tried catching up to it. Police said they tried pulling the Suburban over, only to have it speed away at about 75 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour stretch of I-43.
According to the criminal complaint, police set up stop sticks at S. 60th Street, which punctured the tires of the Suburban when it drove over them. The Suburban spun out, and Davis and Green were arrested.

Authorities questioned the two men, with Davis saying that he stayed behind the wheel of the Suburban while Green went in the store and came out with a cart full of items that he did not pay for.
Police said Green admitted "he would not have done it, but had some crack earlier that helped him," the criminal complaint stated.
