Half-Dozen Garages Spray-Painted in Greenfield Neighborhood
That and the following incidents were among those included in the Greenfield Police Department log for the week of March 25-31.

Someone used blue spray paint to vandalize as many as six garages in the 4600 blocks of South 46th and 47th Streets sometime before 4:30 p.m. March 27.
In addition, a vehicle’s windows were smashed out.

- Ford F150 pick-up truck tires were taken off the vehicle in the 4200 block of South 27th Street sometime before 8:30 a.m. March 25.
- A wallet and purse were reported taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 3800 block of West Plainfield Avenue sometime before 11:30 a.m. March 25.
- A 44-year-old man accused of panhandling at the corner of South 27th Street and West Layton Avenue was arrested for obstructing traffic at 1 p.m. March 25.
- An employee at Pet Supplies Plus, 4505 S. 76th St., reported two people were fighting in the parking lot after one of people’s dog appeared to bite the other. A 32-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct around 3:30 p.m. March 25.
- A 44-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she reportedly yelled at her neighbor and called the neighbor’s child fat in the 4300 block of South 45th Street at 5:40 p.m. March 26.
- Two juveniles, one of whom was carrying a Toy Story backpack, were arrested for retail theft after taking a pair of headphones from Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 6 p.m. March 27.
- A 45-year-old man was arrested for prowling after witnesses say he was walking through the parking lot in front of USA Family Thrift, 4470 S. 108th St., looking into vehicles. He reportedly opened the door on a white utility van parked in front of the store before being arrested.
- A 37-year-old man told police his vehicle was stolen March 29, hours after police found the vehicle crashed into a snow bank near the intersection of South 51st Street and West Morgan Avenue. The man later admitted to police he had crashed the vehicle into the snow bank himself and had gotten a ride home from a random passerby.
- An employee at Rosen Kia, 5505 S. 27th St., reported approximately 50 cars had their windshield wipers stolen sometime before 8:15 a.m. March 29.
- A resident in the 5000 block of South 43rd Street reported his daughter kicked over his refrigerator around 3 p.m. March 30. The daughter was arrested for domestic violence – disorderly conduct.
- A Ruger 9mm handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 4900 block of South Bartel Drive sometime before 11:30 a.m. March 31.
