Nobody let you down.
Nobody betrayed you.
Sean Hannity didn't betray you.
Fox News didn't betray you.
Rush Limbaugh didn't betray you.
William Barr didn't betray you.
You betrayed you.
That is a good thing in the long run through.

One of the biggest overriding factors in our lives as conservatives is that we, by and large, hold ourselves to a high standard of morality. We treat others as we would want to be treated. We strive for honest and ethical actions in all that we do. We seek a level playing field for all. Most of us wouldn't think of committing misdemeanors and felonies. We definitely wouldn't consider cheating in, nor outright stealing an election. That is one of our greatest strengths.
As we have seen, it is also one of our biggest weaknesses as well. We offer to take our elderly neighbors to the polls on election day. We don't take their ballots on our own and decide if it will be counted or not based on their vote. We help to educate casual voters on the stances of the different candidates so they can become more informed voters. We don't tell them how to vote or bully them into voting the way we want. We may not agree with the candidates our neighbors support but we would never consider taking down their signs.

Sure, we like it when our candidates win. It feels good to be on the winning side. We don't, however, feel the need to riot because our candidates lost. We don't demand that everyone think the way we do. At least, we didn't used to…
I addressed this a few weeks ago. I won't rehash it here, but there is a growing cancel culture among the right that I hope will calm down once we get past the cult of personality around Trump. That isn't the point of this week's rant though.
What is my point? Simply this...we are at an unusual crossroads. We can either continue holding ourselves to our standards, try to keep the election process fair and legal through legal means, or dive into the deep end of the moral sewer, sell our souls out for political gains and guarantee our candidates win by any means necessary.
I choose the former. I realize that, occasionally, we will be cheated out of an election now and then. I think it is a small price to pay to be able to look at myself in the mirror unashamed. I also know that many of you will not agree. I have already interacted with some of you online. That is fine. That is a choice only you can make.
Demand accountability. Vote accordingly. Work for the best, prepare for the worst.
May your aim be true.
