Join the Summer Reading Club!

Children of all ages, teens, and adults are eligible and can register at the library between now and July 3. Pick up a reading log and record the time you read in order to win prizes like free passes to museums and parks. Readers can also enter drawings for grand prizes. Prizes will be awarded July 1 through Aug. 24.

Summer Story Times at the Library

  • “Can you Dig It?” Morning Story Time with Mr. Mark on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. from June 10 through July 29.
  • Afternoon Stormy Stories with Mr. Mark on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. on July 1, 8 and 15.
  • Stories in the Garden with Mr. Mark at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 and 27; July 11 and 25. Weather permitting, stories in the garden will take place in the Children’s Garden behind the library. 

Registration is not required for story times. Caregivers must stay with the children during the programs.

Free Family Movies on Tuesday Afternoons

Join us for a free family movie in the air-conditioned Greenfield Library Community Room on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. from June 11 through July 30. Snacks will be served.  Just drop in! Registration is not required. All movies are rated G or PG. A list of the movies will be available at the library or call the library at (414) 321-9595 X104 for more information.

Summer Fun Family Programming

Mondays at 1:30 p.m.:

  • June 10: Holly Nagel and “Aloha to You!”
  • June 17: Magician Tim Glanders and “Get out the Shovels and Dig!”
  • June 24: Doug the Jug’s Juggling Extravanganza
  • July 22: Science Entertainer Karl Debelack and “Bubbleology”
  • July 29: Mary Tooley and  “The Wonder Down Under – Australian Animals”

Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.:

  • June 13: Artist Bill Begos with “Caricatures and Comedy”
  • July 18: Naturalist David Stokes “Creatures from Under the Earth’s Surface – The Dark Side”

Afternoon Activities for ‘Tweens and Teens: All programs run from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room.  Registration is not required.

Programs for ‘Tweens (ages 8–12):

  • June 19: Writing Workshop: Making a Zine — Get creative and learn to make a zine (a miniature book).
  • July 17: Hunger Games Party — Are you a Hunger Games fan?  Hunger Games themed program and games.

Programs are free and all materials will be provided.

Programs for Teens (ages 12–18):

  • June 12: Candy Creations – Turn your candy into beautiful art and eat the leftovers!
  • June 26: Library Minute to Win It! — Compete to complete assigned challenges in one minute. Prizes will be awarded.
  • July 10: Angry Birds in the Library – Work in teams to build a tower, then try to destroy opponents’ towers with Angry Birds.
  • July 24: Rubber Ducky Decorating – Transform a plain white ducky into a work of art! Prizes to the most creative.

Programs are free and all materials will be provided.
