Potty Picture Pays Off for Greenfield Family
The Piepers - Jessica, Brandon and Emmalyn - are heading to Orlando after winning a Huggies Pull-Ups sweepstakes featuring great "first-flush moments."
A family trip to the potty will soon result in a family trip to Orlando for a Greenfield mother and her two children.
Earlier this year, Jessica Pieper snapped a photo of her 5-year-old son Brandon encouraging his potty-training 3-year-old sister Emmalyn to “go” like a big kid.
A few weeks later, Pieper learned of the Huggies Pull-Ups First Flush Moments Sweepstakes. She entered the contest, which required a short story or a photo showing a potty training toddler celebrating his or her bathroom success. In early March, she learned her photo had earned the family the top prize: a four-day, three-night all-expense paid vacation to Orlando.

“I was excited to enter because the grand prize was a trip to Orlando. Of course, I entered fully expecting to win nothing,” Pieper said. “I had taken the picture of my kids a few weeks before I found the contest and knew it would be the perfect entry.
“We are all so excited that we get to have this experience as a family. Emmalyn and Brandon have not been there before and are so excited that they will be flying on an airplane.”

Pieper said the family, which lives in a neighborhood near Kopp’s Frozen Custard, is planning the trip for spring or early summer, and said Pull-Ups has some surprises in store for the three of them.
Potty training rarely pays off in the unexpected way it did for the Piepers. Instead, it’s more of a learning experience, just as it was for the Greenfield mother of two.
“The best potty training tip I would offer is to take cues from your kids because every one will have a different experience,” Pieper said. “All that my son needed was a trip to the store to pick out his new big boy underwear. Emmalyn was a little more difficult. She didn't want to stop playing to go to the bathroom. I had to remind her to use the potty constantly. She finally decided on her own that she wanted to be like her big brother and use the potty like a big kid.”
