Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued; Hail, Tornado Possible: NWS
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m. Friday.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for southeastern Wisconsin as a line of storms heads into our area Friday afternoon and early evening.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of southern Wisconsin until 9 p.m.
A line of storms moving through the area this afternoon into this evening will have the potential to become severe producing damaging winds and a few brief tornadoes, weather observers say.
Very heavy rainfall with any storms could lead to flooding especially in urban areas. Hail up to one inch in diameter is also possible with these storms.

The National Weather Service says the watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for the following counties:

Crawford
Dane
Dodge
Grant
Green
Iowa
Jefferson
Kenosha
Lafayette
Milwaukee
Ozaukee
Racine
Richland
Rock
Sauk
Walworth
Washington
Waukesha

Hazards:
Damaging winds of up to 70 miles per hour and a few brief tornadoes. Hail up to one inch in diameter. Very heavy rainfall is possible with storms and could lead to flooding.
Areas Impacted:
All of southern Wisconsin. Areas south of a line from the Dells to Port Washington will have the best chance for severe weather, which is in line with where the Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been placed.
Timing and Duration:
3 p.m. to 8 p.m. CDT.
Impacts:
Damage to trees and weaker structures, including temporary outside structures such as tents. Power outages possible. Potential damage to structures from strong winds and possible tornadoes.
Certainty and Considerations:
There is moderate to high confidence that severe weather will occur this afternoon into early this evening.
