Six Greenfield Superintendent Candidates Slated for Interviews

The Greenfield School Board has identified six candidates members would like to interview for its vacant superintendent opening.

The pool includes five superintendents and one high school administrator. Just one candidate is currently employed in a Milwaukee suburb, and one works in Illinois.

The candidates, in alphabetical order, are:

• David Anderson, Superintendent of the Chequamegon School District (the consolidated Park Falls and Glidden school districts);
• Vance Dalzin, Superintendent of the Williams Bay School District;
• Lisa Elliott, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Nicolet High School;
• Mark Elworthy, Superintendent of the Wisconsin Heights School District;
• Daniel Olson, Superintendent of the Campbellsport School District; and
• Lynette Zimmer, Superintendent of the Prairie Grove Consolidated District 46 in Illinois.

Board members will interview the six candidates this week, April 3-4, in closed session. From there, they will decide whom to invite for second interviews or if they need to interview other candidates among the initial 20 applicants, according to Dr. Louis Birchbauer, a consultant for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.

“I think they’ve done a very thorough job of trying to pull this all together,” Birchbauer said.

Second interviews, if the board moves in that direction, would be conducted next week, said Birchbauer, a former Greenfield superintendent.

The School Board is replacing former superintendent Conrad Farner, who resigned in January.
