Utility Pole Falls On Brass Tap Patio In Greenfield
A utility pole fell onto the patio at the Brass Tap in Greenfield, closing the restaurant for part of Monday, but injuring nobody.
GREENFIELD, WI — A utility pole fell over and crashed into the patio at the Brass Tap in Greenfield Monday morning, the franchise owner wrote.
No injuries were reported as a result of the the incident, but the patio was destroyed, according to a Facebook post from the business. The utility pole crashed into the patio around 6 a.m. on Monday.
Photos of the incident posted by the Brass Tap Greenfield on Facebook show that the pole fell in front of the restaurant's front entryway. A second photo showed that the utility pole fell across the patio.

A representative from WEC Energy Group told Patch that the utility pole failed due to an unusual equipment issue and the exact cause is still under investigation.
"So I think we are closed this morning," the Brass Tap Greenfield said on Facebook alongside a photo of the downed power line across the patio.

A transformer fell with the pole and leaked oil. WEC Energy Group, owner of WE Energies, is cleaning up the areas impacted by the spilled oil, the representative said.
The WEC Energy Group representative wrote in an email to Patch that it is working closely with the energy customer, and apologizes for the inconvenience.
