Woman Hospitalized After Having Too Much to Drink

But when she is admitted, hospital staff is not sure what is the cause of her condition.

A 22-year-old woman was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with a head injury suffered in the 3100 block of West Kimberly Avenue around 3:30 a.m. May 5.

At the time, hospital staff was not sure if the condition of the woman, who had passed out and was vomiting, was a result of drinking or a consensual wrestling match with a man who was also at the home.

That and the following incidents were recorded in the Greenfield Police Department log for the week of April 29-May 5:

  • A resident in the 3600 block of West Mangold Avenue reported a service van had been broken into sometime before 8:15 a.m. April 29.
  • A resident in the 5100 block of South 44th Street told police she received a call from someone who told her she had won $800,000 and could claim the prize by purchasing a $98 money card from Walgreens. The woman did not comply with the request.
  • A resident in the 3800 block of South 35th Street reported golf clubs were taken from his garage while he was in the front yard sometime before 12:45 p.m. April 29.
  • Three juveniles were taken into custody for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and prowling after a Middle School employee told police it appeared they had tampered with a shed on school grounds sometime before 8 p.m. April 29.
  • A juvenile student was cited for disorderly conduct for swearing and calling another student a derogatory name at Whitnall High School on May 1.
  • A Greenfield man was arrested for disorderly conduct - domestic violence after police say he tried to break into his mother’s residence in the 3800 block of South 39th Street May 1. The man already had a domestic abuse injunction filed against.
  • A man was arrested for taking is parents’ checks and cashing them at Educators Credit Union, 4000 W. Loomis Rd., May 2.
  • A woman was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and battery for fighting with an employee at Burger King, 4651 S. 27th St., at 7:15 p.m. May 2.
  • A man with a pair of brass knuckles was cited for carrying a concealed weapon during a traffic stop in the 4600 block of South 76th Street May 4.
  • An employee at TGI Friday’s reported $200 and a gift card were taken from her purse that was in the employee restroom during her shift May 4.
