2016 Milwaukee Oktoberfest at Veterans Park Opens Thursday

The popular event goes for three days at Veterans Park, on Milwaukee's Lakefront.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's 7th Annual Milwaukee Oktoberfest officially opens 5 p.m. Thursday and takes place over October 13th - 16th, 2016.

This year it takes place at their new location, Veteran's Park, located right along Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront. Organizers say Veteran's Park will allow more room for fun, music, beer, and people.

There will be a Ceremonial Keg Tapping at 5pm on Thursday October 13th for "free bier".

As always, Milwaukee Oktoberfest is free to the public to enjoy the entertainment and benefits Hunger Task Force, Inc.

Again this year, will be live polka music to dance to all day and night by local Polka bands. Weekend activities include a Bags Tournament, Weiner Dog Racing, The 3rd Annual Miss Oktoberfest Competition, Brat Eating Contest, Stein Hoisting Competition, Oktoberfest beer samplings, and so much more! Delicious German food will be provided by Milwaukee Brat House .

In addition, we will also be hosting the 2nd Annual Dunkel Dash 5k Run/Walk!
