City Of Milwaukee Declares Snow Emergency
The snow emergency impacts parking as well as garbage and recycling collection, according to Milwaukee city officials.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Department of Public Works declared a snow emergency Tuesday.
Garbage/Recycling Update
As a result, garbage and recycling collection has been suspended Tuesday, Jan. 26. According to to city officials, residents should set out their carts on their scheduled collection day. Crews will work extended hours to complete delayed collections. City officials ask that residents cear snow around, on top of, and to the cart.

Parking Regulations
- No parking is allowed on through highways and bus routes from 10 p.m.-6 a.m.
- Alternate-side parking required 10 p.m.-6 a.m.
- Posted signs always take precedence
- Alternative parking is available at some Milwaukee Public School locations and city lots after 7 p.m. A list of available parking lots can be found at milwaukee.gov/snowparking.

According to the city, sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice 24 hours after snow has stopped falling. Residents SHOULD NOT shovel, blow or plow snow back into the streets. Sidewalk snow enforcement requests can be made online or by calling 414-286-CITY, however please do not make requests until the snow has stopped for 24 hours.
