Vintage Military Plane Crashes In Sheboygan County; Pilot Killed

A pilot was killed Friday afternoon when of a vintage single-engine military plane crashed into a farm, authorities said.

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI - A pilot was killed Friday afternoon when a vintage single-engine military plane crashed into a farm near Sheboygan County Memorial Airport, authorities said. Two farmworkers were injured and about 40 to 50 animals also were killed.

The plane crashed into a building on the farm that housed calves, Fox 6 Now reported. Sheboygan County Sheriff Cory Roeseler said the pilot died on impact. The pilot has not been identified.

Fire officials say the plane may have been taking off when it crashed. The plane hit a corn field and then crashed into the building housing the calves.

Fire officials were working Friday evening to contain fuel at the crash scene.

The FAA and NTSB are traveling to the scene to investigate the crash.
