Former Sheriff David Clarke Slams FBI Search Warrant Coverage
Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said Friday's coverage of an FBI search warrant finally made public was a "drive-by hit job."

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke took to Twitter early Saturday to slam recent media coverage of an FBI search warrant that was finally made public after several months.
Earlier this year, Riverwest resident Dan Black sued Sheriff Clarke, saying he was illegally detained at Mitchell International Airport in January after he shook his head at Clarke on a flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
During the course of an FBI investigation, FBI officials got a search warrant to access Clarke’s personal email in March. That filing was made public this week - several months after Clarke was cleared of criminal wrongdoing.

Clarke stated Saturday that media coverage of the FBI search warrant, which was made public long after the U.S. Attorney's office determined there was no criminal wrongdoing in a May letter, was a "drive-by hit job" by liberal media.
Lib media did a drive-by hit job on me today with a FAKE NEWS STORY that I am under investigation by the FBI. It’s a LIE. Last MAY the US Atty’s office found NO EVIDENCE of wrongdoing for doing police work. Lying Lib media took a story from LAST MAY & reports this today as new. pic.twitter.com/ijyWp1IEW5

During the contentious incident in January, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Clarke sent a text message outlining what should happen when American Airlines Flight 1534 landed to Milwaukee County Sheriff's Capt. Mark Witek. "Just a field interview, no arrest unless he becomes an [a------] with your guys," Clarke wrote. "Question for him is why he said anything to me. Why didn't he just keep his mouth shut? Follow him to baggage and out the door. You can escort me to the carousel after I point him out."

Black has said he shook his head at the sheriff because he was surprised Clarke was sporting Dallas Cowboys gear on the Jan. 15 flight. That seemed odd to Black, given the Green Bay Packers were playing the Cowboys in the NFL divisional playoffs later that day.
Although the criminal case against Clarke has been closed for several months, Black's civil rights lawsuit against Clarke remains open in federal court.
