Milwaukee Apartment Fire Leaves 1 Person Dead, Dozens Displaced
The fire happened at the Burnham Hills Apartments, at 1720 S. 29th St. in the Burnham Park neighborhood early Thursday morning.
MILWAUKEE, WI — One person is dead and dozens more displaced following an early morning apartment fire Thursday in Milwaukee.
According to WTMJ-4, the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a fire at Burnham Hill Apartments located on the 1700 block of S 29th St. shortly after 12 a.m.
The fire started on the third floor in a single apartment, Fox 6 reported.

A 72-year-old man from Milwaukee was found deceased inside the unit where the fire originated, Milwaukee police confirmed. The cause of his death is under investigation but believed to have been caused by the fire.
No firefighters were injured in the fire.

At least 40 people, possibly more, were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is providing them with temporary lodging.
It's not clear yet what caused the fire; however, it remains under investigation.
