MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Art Museum will reopen to the public on July 16 with free admission for all visitors for one month, museum officials said Monday.

Museum Members will have the opportunity to visit beginning one week earlier starting on Thursday, officials said. The Museum is also modifying its hours, including opening a half hour earlier, which will be reserved for high-risk visitors.

Museum officials say this is the first step in a phased reopening of the Museum to the public. New cleaning procedures, and hand sanitizing stations at entrance points and in the galleries are part of new safety protocols, officials said.

All staff and museum visitors are required to wear a face covering at all times, and signs and decals have been placed throughout the Museum to remind visitors about social distancing, they said.

The Museum now also has timed ticketing, where visitors can reserve their tickets up to two weeks in advance on the Museum’s website, at mam.org/visit, and agree to observe a set of basic guidelines, such as staying at home if they feel ill.
