MILWAUKEE, WI — Flowers for Dreams, an online flower delivery shop, has identified 12 local charities that they will be donating to in 2018. As part of the company’s business model, the charities selected will receive 25 percent of all profits from Flowers for Dreams’ 2018 flower sales, organizers said.
Flowers for Dreams has donated over $200,000 to charities in Chicago in the last five years. This is the first time Flowers for Dreams has included Milwaukee nonprofits in its Charity of the Month program since its launch in February 2017.
The first charity to receive the special recognition as January Charity of the Month is PEARLS for Teen Girls, a leadership development program serving girls middle school through high school, and beyond, in Milwaukee.
The partnership comes at a time when, on January 20, organizers in Milwaukee and across the country will assemble for the Women’s March. Flowers for Dreams will be in Milwaukee and Chicago to support the efforts of the March.

Flowers for Dreams received more than 100 applications after their call for charities in October. Organizers say the Flowers for Dreams team made their selections based on three criteria: mission, record of impact and marketing. The company typically supports organizations that take on local community challenges and solve issues related to health, education, diversity and the environment.
