Milwaukee Officials: Snow Emergency Declared

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee City Department of Public Works declared a snow emergency Thursday.

All residents who park overnight on a Milwaukee side street must move their vehicles to the numbered PAR of the street by 10 p.m., Feb. 4, 2021 until 6 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2021.

Designated lots at Milwaukee Public Schools will be available for off-street parking from 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory continues across all of southern Wisconsin. Moderate to heavy snow will bring hazardous travel conditions for the Thursday afternoon and evening commute, with snow covered and slippery roads and poor visibility.

Gusty west to northwest winds will bring blowing and drifting snow Thursday night into Friday morning, especially on north to south roads.

All of southern Wisconsin will remain under the advisory through Friday morning, for any lingering blowing and drifting snow on gusty west to northwest winds. This may impact
the Friday morning commute, the NWS reports.

Very cold temperatures and bitterly cold wind chills are expected over the weekend and into at least early next week.
