Milwaukee's Craft Beverage Warehouse LLC To Expand

CBW was founded at the start of the pandemic to better provide small-time beverage producers with the distribution materials they need.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Craft Beverage Warehouse LLC will expand its footprint at the Century City Business Park to continue distribution of craft beverage packaging products, according to a press release.

The company will now occupy 9,000 square feet in the Century City 1 building. CBW currently employees three people, but a few new job openings are possible with the expansion.

Kyle Stephens, co-founder of CBW, is also the vice president of finance and administration at Good City Brewing. Stephens will shift out of that role at Good City Brewing to focus on CBW, though.

"Kyle has been a great team member and integral part of Good City for several years, but as I know first-hand, when you have the entrepreneurial drive to start something new, there is no turning back," Good City Brewing Co-founder Dan Katt said.

Stephens co-founded CBW at the pandemic's start to address new craft beverage distribution concerns. Lockdown meant no more bars. No more bars meant no more kegs, fountains or taps. Beverage producers had to switch to bottles and cans for their thirsty customers rapidly.

Acquiring all of the materials to make that switch was easier said than done, though. Small and mid-size craft beverage companies had to compete with national companies.

More importantly, small businesses could only buy large quantities of packaging supplies, more than they actually needed, according to the CBW website.

Craft Beverage Warehouse was founded to ease those small-business pains by making packaging supplies more accessible.

Craft beverage companies can order smaller quantities of packaging supplies from CBW, only what they need, freeing up their cash for other expenses.

Since its founding a year ago, CBW has expanded its market to almost the entire United States.

CBW's Century City Business Park location filled manufacturing space formerly occupied by names such as A.O. Smith and Tower Automotive, according to the press release.

“We’re only a one-year-old company and are committed to building this business in the
Century City Business Park while continuing support of the local community," Stephens said.
