Severe Thunderstorms, Hail Forecast Monday Night Into Tuesday
Large hail to one inch and damaging winds to 60 miles per hour will be the main hazards for southeastern Wisconsin, weather observers say.
MILWAUKEE, WI — Extreme heat in Wisconsin is expected to give way to strong thunderstorms Monday night and into early Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook as scattered thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to severe, are forecast to move into the area from the northwest overnight.
Large hail to one inch and damaging winds to 60 miles per hour will be the main hazards. The most likely areas to see storms will be generally northeast of a Wisconsin Dells to Milwaukee line.

Thunderstorms may linger into Tuesday morning before ending, weather observers said.
After a round of thunderstorms, the heat will be back. According to the National Weather Service, heat index values will reach the middle 90s Tuesday over south central Wisconsin, and over most of the area during the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday.

Additional thunderstorm chances are expected for Thursday afternoon into Friday evening, and again Sunday into early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 5 to 10 miles per hour, becoming north after midnight.
Tuesday
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind 5 to 10 miles per hour becoming southwest in the morning.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 5 miles per hour.
