The Biden Administration announced a target goal of delivering at least one vaccination dose to 70% of American adults by July 4. Whether or not this timeline is achievable remains to be seen. Currently, 131,078,608 people have been fully vaccinated, or 40.1% of the U.S. population.

So far, states have largely managed their own vaccination coordination efforts — and some have proven more efficient at it than others. In Wisconsin, 43.6% of the population are fully vaccinated, higher than the U.S. average.

As of May 25, Wisconsin has received about 5,855,700 vaccinations and administered about 91.7% of those doses.

As the virus mutates and new variants spread, vaccinating the population as rapidly as possible is critical. In total, there have been 672,422 confirmed cases of the virus in Wisconsin as of May 25 — or 11,566 for every 100,000 people. For context, there have been 10,025 known infections for every 100,000 people nationwide.
