Students of all ages from a number of MPS schools will be performing in this year’s show. Some have no prior singing or dancing experience, but many already have extensive training and talent. The goal of show organizers is to offer a theater experience that rivals a Las Vegas production.
"We Are the Drum” is a community program offered by CAPITA Productions, a nonprofit organization with the mission of bridging cultural gaps, uniting Milwaukee area youth, and offering a constructive outlet for creative expression. The name CAPITA stands for City at Peace in the Arts.

Kevin C. Williams, CAPITA director, has been recruiting students, hosting rehearsals, coaching students, and preparing for the show for several months. He is assisted by talented staff members and volunteers who are motivated to develop the talents of children who participate. CAPITA does not charge fees for children who take part in the show. “This is about more than performing,” said Williams. “They learn to work together, they learn respect, they learn discipline. It’s exciting to see the interaction of the kids . . . they’re teaching one another . . . what a beautiful sight.”
Milwaukee Marshall High is located at 4141 N. 64th Street in Milwaukee.
