Wind Gusts Up To 45 MPH Possible; Tornado Watch In Effect
Severe weather is expected in several Wisconsin counties Tuesday, including in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
A tornado watch is in effect for several Milwaukee counties, including Waukesha, Kenosha and Milwaukee counties, according to the National Weather Service. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. and absent the threat of tornadoes, government forecasters have also issued a wind advisory that is in effect until 4 a.m.
Wind speeds of between 20-30 miles per hour and gusts of up to 45 miles per hour are possible Tuesday evening and into the night. Officials are warning of downed tree limbs, unsecured objects flying around and possible power outages.
Residents are cautioned to secure any outdoor objects and use caution when driving. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Waukesha, New Berlin, Muskego until 5:15 p.m.. A tornado warning is in effect for Burlington, Waterford and Tichigan until 4:45 p.m.

Thunderstorms were in the forecast for the afternoon and the evening. Forecasters said the best chances for thunderstorms were in the area along and south of a line from Monroe to Port Washington.
"A few strong or severe storms are also possible across this area, with strong winds gusts and a few brief tornadoes," the weather service said in its forecast.

No hazardous weather is expected the rest of the week.

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Low around 34. Windy, with a south wind 15 to 25 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
