Hazards: Moderate to heavy snow accumulating over a short period of time. Light wintry mix possible as the system exits.

Areas Impacted: All of southern WI, especially north of I-94 and north of portions of US Hwy 151 that are west of Madison. Light wintry mix will be more likely near the
WI/IL border.

Timing and Duration: Snow will spread from west to east between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Sunday. Snow will then continue throughout the day before tapering off in the evening between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. The heaviest snowfall is expected to fall during the morning and then transition to light snow, with occasional mixing in the far south.

Impacts: Snow covered roads and reduced visibility in falling snow creating hazardous travel. High snowfall rates may cause difficulties for road crews trying to maintain acceptable road conditions. Light wintry mix may cause a light glaze on surfaces in far southern WI.

Certainty and Considerations: High confidence in a winter weather event having an impact across southern Wisconsin, although some uncertainty exists concerning where the axis of heaviest snow will fall.
