Winter Storm Warning Issued: Up To 10 Inches Snow Forecast
Weather in Wisconsin this weekend will see multiple rounds of snow and freezing rain. Here's when it hits and how much will fall.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Citing multiple rounds of snow and freezing rain, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning. The warning begins 7 p.m. Friday and extends until 6 a.m. Sunday.
Snow and a wintry mix will likely impact far southeastern Wisconsin this evening and into Saturday morning. Precipitation will likely begin as rain over Kenosha, Walworth, and Rock counties early Friday evening before quickly transitioning to a
freezing rain and a mix over most of far southeastern Wisconsin.
A wintry mix and snow will then continue through the overnight hours and into Saturday morning. Snow and Ice accumulations with this round of winter weather will make travel difficult during the Friday night and Saturday morning time frame.

A second wave of snow will impact all of southern Wisconsin Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Snow will be heavy at times and strong northeast winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow. The heaviest snow will fall from noon Saturday to 12 a.m. Sunday. Travel will be very difficult from early Saturday afternoon into the early hours of Sunday.

Milwaukee area: 5-10 inches
Port Washington area 7-10 inches
Racine area: 4-9 inches
Waukesha area: 6-10 inches

WINTRY WEATHER
Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Through Saturday morning, 2 to 5 inches of snow and up to a quarter inch of freezing rain is expected. Freezing rain totals will be highest southeast of a line from Janesville to Milwaukee.
Additional moderate to heavy snow is expected Saturday afternoon and evening. Storm total snow of 6 to 9 inches is possible. Winds will gust as high as 40 miles per hour, especially closer to Lake Michigan.

Along and south of a line from Darlington to Watertown to Port Washington.
TIMING
From 7 p.m. Friday evening to 6 a.m. Sunday.
IMPACTS
Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Two waves of wintry weather are expected. The first will bring a combination of snow, freezing rain, and sleet to the area this evening and tonight. Moderate to heavy snow will then move into the area Saturday afternoon and night. Between these two waves on Saturday morning, areas of freezing drizzle will be possible.
