Wisconsin Badger Football 2020 Schedule Released; Doubts Remain
The Big Ten released their 2020 schedule — a modified one given the COVID-19 pandemic that's continuing across the U.S.

MADISON, WI — Provided the fall college football season actually happens, the Wisconsin Badger football team is scheduled to start their 2020 season with a Sept. 4 home game versus Indiana.

The Badgers will play 10 games this season, and they're all conference games. Eight of the games are against teams located in the Midwest and two are from east coast-based teams.

“We are very hopeful to have a Big Ten football season, to have fall sports in our Big Ten Conference, but again we’re approaching this entire process on a day-to-day basis,” Commissioner Kevin Warren said on the Big Ten Network. “This will not be a straight line this year. We’ve released the schedule, but we’ve done it in a context of we have to plan ahead, but we understand that we are in a pandemic.
Training camp is scheduled to start Friday, although conference leaders expressed some doubt whether the fall season would happen.

On Wednesday, the University of Connecticut — known as UConn — announced it is suspending its football program for the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sept. 4: Indiana
Sept. 12: at Northwestern
Sept. 19: at Nebraska
Sept. 26: Minnesota
Oct. 3: at Maryland
Oct. 10: Purdue
Oct. 17: Bye
Oct. 24: Illinois
Oct. 31: at Michigan
Nov. 7: Bye
Nov. 14: at Iowa
Nov. 21: Rutgers
According to a Wisconsin State Journal report, the Big Ten was supposed to release the schedule on Tuesday, but delayed the announcement after Rutgers had an outbreak involving 28 players and staff. Northwestern needed to put a group of players in quarantine over their own COVID-19 concerns.
