SHOREWOOD, WI — Carrying signs that read "black lives matter" and "stop killing us," a group of demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd last week made their way into Milwaukee's north shore communities including Shorewood on Monday night into early Tuesday.

Shorewood had been under a curfew again Monday night, though protesters marched through the evening, eventually making contact with police.

According to a JSOnline report, early protests were generally peaceful, but things took a turn when protesters smashed the windshield of a Shorewood police squad at Oakland and Edgewood. The report also stated police made about 10 arrests as some protesters pelted officers with beer cans, ice bottles and bricks.
