3 Cars Hit in Break-ins on Monday

Police say about $900 worth of property were taken from cars in overnight and early morning entry to autos.

Three cars were targeted in break-ins Monday, in which about $900 worth of property was stolen.

Sometime between 9:35 and 10:20 a.m. in the rear parking lot at , 1600 E. Lake Bluff Blvd. a window was smashed out of a car and $500 worth of items taken including a $10 Nike backpack, $100 calculator, $30 book and other items.

Then sometime between 9 and 10:45 a.m., a window was busted out of a car while it was parked in the 1900 block of East Capitol Drive. A bag was stolen, but later found a short distance from the car by police. The damaged amounted to $200.

And sometime overnight, an unlocked car parked in the 4100 block of North Ardmore Avenue was entered and the glove box rummaged through. Nothing was reported stolen from the car.

  • A $400 Apple iPhone 4S and $12 in cash were reported stolen Tuesday from the Shorewood High School’s girl’s locker room, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.
  • On Wednesday, a car drove off without paying for $30 worth of gas at Shorewood’s BP gas station, 1513 E. Capitol Dr.
