MILWAUKEE, WI — It might sound like a supervillain's invention, but a "bomb cyclone" is very real — and it's on its way toward pummelling the entire New England area.
The powerful, hurricane-like storm will drop three to six inches of snow on the on New York before temperatures plummet to bone-chilling lows, the National Weather Service predicts.
We at Patch.com wanted to know what impact the "bomb cyclone" will have on Wisconsin, so we asked one of the experts.

Tim Halbach, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service out of Sullivan, Wis. said that the deadly nor'easter will not reach Wisconsin, but the Badger State will definitely feel its effects.
" The impact that we will feel from it is the cold air for the next few days. The system is going to help slow down the overall pattern and help to bring colder air down from southern Canada into the Great Lakes region, " Halbach told Patch.

This, Halbach indicated, means a steady diet of bitterly-cold weather across the state for the next few days. The National Weather Service has put Wisconsin under a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. Thursday as cold weather continues.
According to the NWS, people can expect wind chills to range from 15 below zero to 25 below zero for portions of east central Wisconsin, south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, with the coldest temperatures and wind chills happening around sunrise on Thursday.
