Residents are encouraged to safely dispose all unwanted, unneeded, or expired medications. Residents may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by removing the medication from its container and disposing it directly into a clear sealable plastic bag, according to organizers. Blister packages are accepted without the medications being removed. Liquids, creams, and sprays must be in their original packaging. E-cigarettes and vape pens will be accepted only if the batteries are removed. The Police Department will not remove or dispose of the batteries.
The Shorewood Police Department regularly accepts unwanted medications on a daily basis but this is a particular day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration when residents can bring them in.
