Greyhound Roundup: Softball Team Wins Season Opener

Spring sports season kicks off this week with Shorewood tennis, track and field and girls soccer.

Here is a roundup of Shorewood High School sports courtesy of Athletic Director Bill Haury.

Softball — After three cancelled games due to weather and field conditions, the varsity girl’s open the 2013 spring season with a non-conference victory over Heritage Christian, 19-10.  After the first inning, the Greyhounds held a slim 3-2 lead.  It was the second inning, where the team batted through the order to take an 11-3 lead that they held behind the pitching of Cindy Schuelke who recorded the win.  Celeste Carroll pitched two innings of relief.
