Shorewood Home Burglarized Overnight on Sunday

The village has experienced a slew of home burglaries, including 14 in one month, but this is the first reported incident since Oct. 30.

Police say owners of a home in the 2200 block of East Newton Avenue didn’t realize their home had been burglarized overnight on Sunday until a stolen credit card was used fraudulently.

Along with the credit card, a $40 purse, checkbook and personal identification were taken when the unlocked home was entered through a side door sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 7 a.m. on Monday.
