GAME BLOG REPLAY: Messwood Cruises to Easy 42-7 Victory over University School

Lots of offense and stingy defense. That was the tale of Messwood's victory Friday night, as they routed University School 42-7 in their Midwest Classic conference opener.

Messwood found pay dirt early in the first quarter after USM kicker Ben Zweif couldn't handle a bad snap and it was recovered by Messwood for six. They would score 21 before University School would answer with its only touchdown of the night, mid-second quarter. It was all down hill from there for Messwood, logging big plays to capture their second win of the season.

Messwood will travel to undefeated Saint John's NW Military Academy for its next match conference match Sept. 8.

FIRST QUARTER

Q1, 11:53: Messwood returns the kickoff for 20 yards to their 35-yard line — and we are underway.

Q1, 10:30: Nice 45-yard scamper by Messwood. Messwood threatening on USM's 20-yard line.
