Masks Still Required In Shorewood School Districts

The district is working with local authorities to determine how to move forward with new CDC interim guidelines.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Face coverings are still required at all Shorewood School District buildings, regardless of recent CDC guidelines, according to a press release from Superintendent Bryan Davis.

Shorewood still has a mask mandate for the entire village. The ordinance is up for reconsideration by the Village Board next Monday.

The Village Board, North Shore Health Department and Shorewood School District are working together to determine how to move forward with mask mandates in schools.

The CDC released interim guidelines for mask use Thursday. In almost all instances, fully vaccinated people no longer need to physical distance or wear a mask.

The CDC guidelines do not apply to municipalities, institutions or businesses following different rules.
