Milwaukee County Asking for Public Input on Parks

A survey on public spaces was sent to 4,000 randomly selected households

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Parks department is seeking the public's input on plans for county parks, trails, natural areas and recreational programs over the next 10 years.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the department sent out surveys to 4,000 randomly selected households in the county. They also asked opinions on closing parks to save an estimated $250 million in maintenance and repairs.

The survey also addressed the controversial proposal to introduce parking fees at the lakefront to help fund renovations in the county's 158 parks and 11 parkways.
