Milwaukee Riverkeeper Hosting 22nd Annual Spring River Cleanup April 22 With After-Party At Estabrook Park
The river cleanup will be held on Earth Day, with more than 4,000 volunteers from the area pitching in to pick up trash.

Milwaukee Riverkeeper is welcoming citizens to join them on Earth Day April 22 for the Annual Spring River Cleanup.
More than 4,000 volunteers will gather across the Milwaukee River Basin to pick up trash and keep the rivers safe for fishing and swimming. The cleanup will be from 9 a.m. to noon at one of 50 locations along the river and participants are invited to bring their own canoes.
Milwaukee Riverkeeper will provide gloves, trash bags, and free T-shirts to volunteers. Volunteers are also invited to the Trash Bash after-party, a celebration of music, food, and fun in partnership with Rock the Green at Estabrook Park, Picnic Area #8, 4400 N. Estabrook Drive, Shorewood.

Milwaukee Riverkeeper is designating three types of cleanup sites according to amount of trash and labor required to pick it up, from light workload to locations with a lot of trash and they are designated on the website. According to their website, Milwaukee Riverkeeper's mission is to protect, improve, and advocate for water quality, riparian wildlife habitat, and sound land management in the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic River Watersheds.
