Most Home Values Are Up This Year: How To Speak With An Assessor
The average Shorewood home value went up by 8.4 percent over the past two years- here's how to navigate the new Village assessments.
SHOREWOOD, WI—Property values are mostly higher from this year's value assessments with the average home value in Shorewood up by 8.4 percent over the past two years, according to a news release from the village.
The Village started mailing out notices of new values in May. Altogether, Village assessments have increased by 6.2 percent over the past two years with only a few commercial properties receiving decreased value assessments, according to the news release.
There are still opportunities until July 19 to discuss the new assessments with the Village. Value assessments will be finalized at a Shorewood Board of Review meeting on July 21.

The Shorewood Open Book event Wednesday and Thursday will offer an in-person opportunity for property owners to discuss these new assessments. The event will occur from 12-7 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at Village Hall located at 3930 N Murray Avenue in Shorewood.
