Murder Suspect in Custody
Police are asking for the public's help in locating the victim's vehicle, which may contain additional evidence.

A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of a Shorewood man last week.
Clarence Charles, 57, was found dead in his apartment the night of July 16. Police responded to his apartment at 4460 N. Oakland Ave. on the report of a missing person. The Medical Examiner's Office later concluded the death was a homicide.
Police announced Thursday that a suspect has been taken into custody, but no details have been released about the identity of the suspect. Charges are pending against the suspect, according to police.
Police are now asking for the public's help in locating Charles' vehicle, which has gone missing and may contain additional evidence in the homicide investigation. The vehicle is a silver, two-door 2002 Chevrolet Blazer with a license plate of 109-UWE.
If you see this vehicle, do not make contact with the driver. Call Shorewood police at 414-847-2610.
It has been 20 years since Shorewood police last investigated a homicide in the village. The last murder occurred in the same apartment building, but in a different apartment unit, on Nov. 13, 1993. The case was solved and cleared by an arrest.
