Parking Changes Coming To Shorewood
The Village of Shorewood conducted a transportation and parking analysis in 2019-2020. Changes begin next month.

SHOREWOOD, WI— The Village of Shorewood conducted a transportation and parking analysis in 2019-2020. The consultant performed a comprehensive review of the Village's traffic patterns, signage, and parking policies to make suggestions on how the Village can improve their transportation and parking efforts.
After reviewing the findings and recommendations, the Village is prepared to implement the following measures starting January 1, 2021.
Community members now have the option to purchase a monthly overnight on-street parking permit. There will be a limit of two permits per household or address. The permits will be available to all residents and visitors. Residents and visitors will still have the option to register their licensed vehicle for 20 free overnight parking permissions per calendar year online.

Landlords will no longer need to coordinate parking for their tenants. Landlords will be able to state with certainty that on-street parking is available to prospective tenants for up to two vehicles per household or address. Residents of multi-family units (apartment buildings) will be able to purchase overnight on-street parking without the need to coordinate payment through their landlord.
Monthly fees for overnight on-street and overnight off-street (lots) parking will be reduced. The new fees will be:
On-street parking: $40 per calendar month
Non 24-hour off-street parking: $30 per calendar month
24-hour off-street parking lots: $50 per calendar month

The above permit fees have been reduced anywhere between $10 to $25 per month.
By mid-December, residents and visitors can purchase monthly on-street parking permits and current off-street parkers can renew off-street parking permits online at next year’s new rates.
New off-street parkers must purchase their first permit through the Village of Shorewood before being eligible to renew online.
Between the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 a.m., vehicles with valid overnight permits or temporary overnight permissions must be legally parked on the even-addressed side of the street on even-numbered calendar days and parked on the odd-addressed side of the street on odd-numbered calendar days. The day is determined based on what day it is when the time is 3:00 a.m.
Alternate-side parking restrictions shall not apply to the following street sections:
Insufficient street width ("No Parking on this Side of the Street")
Parking is seasonally designated to one side of the street ("No Parking December 1 through February 28")
Streets with posted winter regulations of "No Parking December 1 through February 28" will only be enforced for on-street, alternate-side, overnight parking from March 1 through November 30. Streets with year-round "No Parking on this Side of the Street" will not adhere to the alternate-side parking regulations since parking is not available for vehicles on these streets.
