Police Report: Sunseekers Customers Say Neighbor Likes to Stand Naked in Window; Pot Arrest

A 17-year-old Shorewood boy was arrested Wednesday after he was found smoking pot and drinking vodka while sitting a car around 2:25 p.m.
Police say they have received complaints about kids smoking in a car on a daily basis in the 2300 block of East Beverly Road, where the boy was found Wednesday afternoon. Police were conducting routine patrol in the area when they found the teenager.
Police found rolling papers, a small baggie containing marijuana and a bottle of vodka in the car.

In other police news:
- The manager of local tanning salon , 2420 E. Capitol Dr., called police Wednesday after customers told him a man who lives across the street frequently stands naked in his window. The suspect told police the window is in a walk-in closet and he would look into installing blinds.
- An student was bitten by a dog on the public sidewalk prior to school on Thursday. The skin was punctured on the student’s left calf. A school nurse evaluated the injury and the student’s parents were notified, according to the police report.
- Employees on the second floor of the office building at 3970 N. Oakland Ave., which houses , called police Thursday to report a man in his 40s had defecated on the wall and floor. The complainant offered to provide police with surveillance video of the suspect.
- A Shorewood woman found passed at a bus stop in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue became disorderly when officers and conducted a welfare check on her Wednesday morning at 2:06. Police say she resisted arrest after becoming disorderly and was cited for being found in such a state of intoxication that she couldn’t care for herself.
- A $200 bicycle was reported stolen from a rack in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue sometime between 8 a.m. on Wednesday and 6 p.m. on Thursday. The front tire was locked to the rack, but it was removed and the rest of the bicycle taken.
