Popular Shorewood Wine Shop Is Closing Its Doors
Thief Wine Shop and Bar, 4512 N Oakland Ave., announced they're closing their Shorewood location at the end of May.

SHOREWOOD, WI — A Shorewood wine shop that has been a fixture in the community for about 10 years is closing its doors.
Thief Wine Shop and Bar, 4512 N Oakland Ave., announced they're closing their Shorewood location at the end of May. They're planning on keeping their Milwaukee Public Market location open.
"Our Shorewood lease is up at the end of June, however, and with the price increase and commitment that a renewal would have triggered it was financially prohibitive for us to stay. So, Thief Wine will be closing our Shorewood location; our last day of operation in Shorewood will be Sunday, May 31," owners Phil Bilodeau and Aimee Murphy wrote this week.

They noted that the Shorewood closure would not affect their Milwaukee Public Market location.
"This was an incredibly hard decision to make – as you know, we’ve been there since the beginning, and put our heart and soul into creating and building out a beautiful space and offering amazing wines. I’m really proud of what we built," Bilodeau and Murphy wrote.
